August Local: the same department, on a machine in your practice.
Your records and your thinking stay in your building. Only the campaigns leave. The practice brain, the leads, the history, and the work all live on hardware you own, and August reaches out only to the places marketing actually happens.
What Local does not do, said plainly
Marketing is outbound by definition. Your ads run on Google and Meta, your website is public because patients have to find it, your reviews are public, and your messages go to real phones. August Local cannot keep all of that inside your building, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something. What it keeps inside is your records and your thinking. What leaves is the campaign, and the panel below lists every piece of it.
Your data on your hardware
The practice brain, your leads and the stage each one is at, your campaign history, and everything August has written for you sit on a machine you own, in a building you control.
Your own AI
Local ships with a capable model that runs on the machine, so your thinking never has to leave the building to be useful. If you would rather use a frontier model, bring your own keys under your own agreements and August uses those instead.
The whole department
Every agent, every screen, and every approval works the way it does in the cloud. This is a different place to run August, not a smaller August.
You own the install
Nothing updates itself underneath you. A new version lands when you decide it lands, and staying on the one you have is a choice you are allowed to make.
What runs where
Stays in your building
- Your practice brain, which is everything August knows about the practice
- Your leads and the stage each one is at
- Your campaign history and what it earned
- Every piece of content August has written for you
- The model itself, if you want it on the machine
Leaves, and why
- Your ads, because they run on Google and Meta, and that is where the auction is.
- Your website, because patients have to be able to reach it.
- Your review replies, because the reviews are public and the reply is published next to them.
- Your texts and emails to patients, because they go to real phones and real inboxes.
August Local is in build.
There is nothing to try yet and no date to give you. Leave your email and I will write to you when there is something real to look at, which is the only message this list will ever be used for.
Most practices should start in the cloud.
Local is for a practice with a reason for one: a policy it has to meet, a strong preference about where its records sit, or a server it already runs and already looks after. Everyone else is better served by the cloud, where there is no machine to buy, nothing to update, and nothing to back up. It is the same August, the same agents, and the same approvals either way.
